I was born in 1938 to parents of French and British nationalities, who were working as Methodist ministers in West Africa (Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana) and Haiti, West Indies, where I spent my first 14 years. speaking English, French and Creole at home.
I then spent five years at a British boarding school before attending London and Cambridge Universities and studying in France and Germany. As well as teaching French, German and English in England, during my holidays I often worked translating at international conferences with the World Student Christian Movement and the World Council of Churches.
Throughout my life, I was always searching for deeper Spiritual understanding and meaning, and studied other religions, especially the ancient Wisdom Teachings of India while making friends with people who practiced these devotedly.
In 1983 I met Philip Carr-Gomm and travelled with him to Bulgaria to meet in secret with members of the Brotherhood of the Master Peter Deunov in the Rila mountains near Mousala, (as we could not go to the Seven Lakes region during the Communist years.) There I had a mystical calling to follow this Teaching, and so I returned to Bulgaria many times in the ensuing years, and invited Leon Moscona to teach PanEuRhythmy in the British Isles. During this time he and I were invited to meet some American friends, who then invited Leon and later myself to teach in the USA.
PanEuRhythmy was warmly received throughout the United States, and many people strongly encouraging me to stay and “start a school of PanEuRhythmy” here, and I finally decided to leave my home and work and move here in 1990, though without financial or organisational support.
Throughout my early years here I had wonderful and close support and guidance from Maria Mitovska who helped me in countless ways, and finally with my books, “Dance of the Soul” and “The Butterfly Dance”. These were later translated, first into Spanish, when I was invited to teach in Costa Rica in 1994, and then into Polish, when I was invited eight times to Poland by Irena Galinska between 2006 and 2010. (In between, I was also invited to introduce PanEuRhythmy in Brazil, Australia and New Zealand.)
Divine Guidance and miraculous help came my way again and again and saved my life throughout the difficult years of obtaining a work permit to remain in the USA, as well as working indefatigably for many years without personal, organisational or financial support.
Then in 2009 (through Dr Svetla Baltova) came an invitation to teach in Colombia, South America. Soon afterwards I was also invited to introduce PanEuRitmia in Chile, and later in Ecuador, Argentina and Peru. I quickly realised it would be essential to be able to speak and teach in Spanish, so in 2010 (at the age of 72 years) I started learning Spanish, and gradually was able to teach in Spanish without help from translators as previously.
Between 2010 and 2018 I travelled twice a year to several South American countries each time, and in 2018 with the help of amazing Brazilian friends, we organised the first International PanEuRitmia Gathering in Spanish in Ecuador. This was warmly appreciated by the seventy people who attended from eight different countries, and a video was made, which I can supply. A second Gathering was planned for 2020, but due to COVID restrictions, it had to be postponed, and will now take place in Brazil in October of this year, 2026.
